Artwave, the Lewes district’s annual Open House Festival looks set to sizzle with a veritable feast of inspirational and engaging works. Taking place in venues across the Lewes district, from Saturday 25th August until Sunday 9th September Artwave is guaranteed to get the creative juices flowing.
Artwave promotes local art and creativity by encouraging artists of all levels to open their homes and studios, showcasing their work and introducing visitors to a wealth of skill and talent.
Covering the breadth of the Lewes District, including Ditchling, Firle and Chailey, as well as the larger towns of Seaford, Newhaven and Lewes, Artwave 2012 has something new and exciting to offer any visitor.
From studios, farmhouses, metal workshops, and gardens to industrial sites, conservatories, barns and private homes all snuggled in beautiful towns, villages and rural locations, the Artwave open houses offer visitors the chance to escape frantic or sometimes uninspiring schedules and to discover stimulating art in extraordinary, often tranquil venues right on their doorstep.
Artwave offers a fantastic opportunity for visitors to view artwork by experts and novices side by side, with the opportunity to buy pieces directly from the artists and makers – finding out exactly what moved them to create. Visual art is displayed for all to enjoy and the event is a must for any creative diary.
